The idea was originally hatched inside the studio, and Stern came aboard to help develop and write it. Nash Entertainment’s Bruce Nash and Bob Kosberg are producing with Levy. “The thing that got me excited the most is it’s about a man looking at his life through the prism of home movies,” says Stern, who’s keeping the story line quiet. “Because of the technology we have now, we have our whole lives on tape. So when we’re older we can watch our own biopic. Of course, I’m certain mine will be a horror movie. There’s still time to turn it into a romantic comedy, I guess.” Stern continues to work on the script for the in-development Fox comedy “Neighborhood Watch,” which Levy also is producing and Peter Segal is directing. Stern also worked on Levy’s forthcoming comedy, “Date Night,” which Fox is releasing April 9. Levy is currently prepping to produce and direct the futuristic boxing drama “Real Steel” for DreamWorks. Stern, who is repped by WME and managed by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Industry Entertainment, has his original comedy screenplay “Self-Guided” set up with Mandeville Films at Disney. He is also rewriting the comedy “Pets” for Red Hour Films at New Regency. Stern worked on the scripts for the animated Disney releases “Bolt,” “The Princess and the Frog” and “Toy Story 3,” which hits theaters in June. |
